I started on the windward shorelines of SA Bay with Randy G. and guests and was greeted with rafts of small mullet and showering menhaden. Spook jr s and small skitter walks in the clown colors performed best. We boxed 11- keeper trout to 23″ after our first wade and caught about 40- undersized trout. This stretch of shoreline was mostly sand with small scattered shell.
Later we moved over to one of our area lakes where for the next couple of hours we encountered some serious blows on top. Several redfish caught had our baits totally engulfed. We also continued to pick up a few more trout. We finished the day with 20- trout and 9- reds with my party of three today. Roach chartreuse TFM (Texas Flats Minnow) was great for fooling speckled trout. In the TTK, Captain Harold used the Texas Trout Killer Sabine Machine (motor oil w/multi-colored fiber and chartreuse tail)
Back on track after the rain
The lodge welcomed 18-guests Thursday evening for a 5-boat session on Friday. Prospects remain good with light winds and near perfect water conditions.
