Captain Harold’s party caught 29-trout Wednesday over mud and grass back in the lakes. Winds were gusting to 25 mph and the lakes provided the water clarity needed along with the mullet and shrimp present. He focused on the color change. Captain David & Captain Jason also had a strong bite over the same structure with 16 fish for David’s party of two and Jason’s party had full limits of trout and reds with trout to 23″. All trips were live bait. Captain Cooper party struggled to locate any kind of bite, meanwhile Captain Nathan and crew finished up short with only 5-trout for the day.
The water is very fresh from Chicken Foot reef up to refuge reef. Also most of the open bay water is dirty and rough. The lodge welcomes a large insurance company and other guests for a 5-boat session on Thursday. I will post the fishing and weather reports soon as possible.
